Kelly: English Tutor + SEND Tutor
Kelly is a passionate English tutor who works to unlock each student's strengths and help them to grow in confidence.
She is a source of strength for neurodiverse students who need extra support. Her experience as an SEN LSA has been invaluable in promoting great ways for students to learn.
She draws on her experience as the owner of a Theatre company and leader of a youth Drama club to help children build their inner strength so they can shine in all subjects - within and beyond the classroom.
Kelly graduated from De Montfort University with a 2:1 BA (hons) Performing Arts degree. Since graduating, Kelly has run a drama youth club and worked in Education as an SEN LSA / cover teacher for both English and Drama. She has a keen interest in motivating children to believe in themselves and achieve anything they put their minds to. Kelly enjoys working with children and guiding them with an empathetic approach. Kelly's experience of teaching students 1-2-1, has enabled her to think innovatively on how to tailor the work for that particular student and their individual needs. Whether that be adjusting the work so that it is accessible to those that may struggle with SEND needs or scaffolding work to help the student reach their desired goal with ease. Kelly believes it is okay for us to not understand or get things wrong and therefore her approach to teaching is one with patience and kindness. Kelly’s motto is “Let’s learn together!
